Jackson-Union County Habitat for Humanity
Works in partnership with working poor families, utilizing donated or discounted materials and services, to help them become first-time home owners. Provides a service for minor home repairs. Through this program, local low-income homeowners are able to apply for assistance with necessary minor home repairs.

Delivers approximately 260 meals per day homebound residents in Carbondale, DeSoto, Dowell, Elkville, Murphysboro, and Union County. The only guidelines to receive a meal is that the person be 60 years of age or older. Shawnee Alliance For OLDER ADULTS
Since 1983 the Shawnee Alliance for Older Adults program, has served persons over the age of sixty (60) and their caregivers. Program goals include providing access to services which enable older adults to maximize their independence and remain in the community, advocating for the rights of older adults and their quality of life in the community and in nursing homes, and protecting older adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Serving the Illinois counties of Alexander, Franklin, Hardin, Gallatin, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union, and Williamson. Offers Retired & Senior Volunteer Program of Southern Illinois funded by a grant from Senior Corps RSVP through the Corporation for National and Community Service to support at least 100 volunteers serving in the southern twelve counties of Illinois.
